Terdapat klasifikasi pada Multiple Sclerosis, yakni Clinically isolated syndrome (CIS), Relapsing Remitting Multiple Sclerosis (RRMS), Secondary Progressive Multiple Sclerosis (SPMS), Primary Progressive Multiple Sclerosis (PPMS).
abstract
Multiple sclerosis (MS) is an autoimmune disease in the form of chronic demyelination that attacks the protectivecoating on nerve fibers (myelin) in the central nervous system (CNS). The prevalence of Multiple Sclerosis in Indonesia ranges from 0-5/100,000. The etiology of Multiple Sclerosis is still unknown, but it can be caused by genetics, Epsteinn Barr virus infection, and other risk factors. There are classifications of Multiple Sclerosis, namely CIS, Relapsing Remitting Multiple Sclerosis (RRMS), Secondary Progressive Multiple Sclerosis (SPMS), Primary Progressive Multiple Sclerosis (PPMS). Multiple Sclerosis has the following clinical manifestations: weakness, fatigue; numbness; visual disturbances; speech disorders; movement disorders; and pain. It is recommended to administer disease modifying drugs (DMDs) to patients who have been diagnosed with MS as soon as possible, to slow down the progress of the disease.
